Oxford North project update & Oxfordshire County Council A40 highway works

Project update - February 2020

Following Oxford City Council’s Planning Review Committee which resolved to approve Thomas White Oxford’s planning application for Oxford North on Monday 16 December 2019, TWO is now in discussions with Oxford City Council to progress the relevant legal agreements and planning conditions. We hope that once these matters are concluded that planning permission will be issued.

With the potential commencement of such a sizeable project, we are fully aware that any works may raise questions or concerns.

Therefore, we will continue with our communications through our website and enewsletters. You can also follow us through social media.

If you know of anyone who would like to be kept informed, please direct them to www.oxfordnorth.com where they can register their email address to receive updates. We are also on social media, please feel free to follow us. The newsletter sign-up and social media links can be found in this website's footer.

Oxfordshire County Council A40 highways works

From 17 February 2020, Oxfordshire County Council has informed TWO that as part of the wider A40 corridor transport improvements, they will be carrying out a short period of work, within the highway boundary, along the A40 on a section of the road just to the west of the Wolvercote roundabout.

The work will involve some vegetation clearance along with engineering surveys over a three-week period. A temporary lane closure at night will be required in compliance with Oxfordshire County Council Highway regulations.

With the works taking place within the highway boundary, following removal of vegetation, should there be any impact to TWO’s boundary, new fencing will be installed.

The County Council is carrying out its own communications around this project. Further information supplied to us via the County Council can be found below. You can also email them directly about this project: A40.BuslaneProject@Oxfordshire.gov.uk

For background

Oxfordshire County Council’s A40 survey & vegetation clearance work

The schedules above have been designed to keep the road and path open to the public as normal as far as possible.
